Collection of Personal Information
When you apply to adopt an animal, engage in certain activities on our web site,
or participate in fund raising or community events Capistrano Animal Rescue
Effort may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out
and submitting an online or written form. It is completely optional for you to
engage in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however,
Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort may require you to provide information such as
your name, mailing address, e-mail address, and other personal identifying
information. When ordering products on our web site, you may be asked to provide
a credit card number. When you submit personal information to Capistrano Animal
Rescue Effort, you understand and agree that Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort and

How This Information Is Used and Shared
Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort collects this information in order to record and
support your participation in the activities you select, and in the day to day
operation of the business. Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort may also use the
information as part of our effort to keep you informed about our events,
progress, needs and accomplishments.
If you volunteer, the information is used to let those in the organization who
can use your skills be aware of your noted skills and have methods to contact
you for your valuable help. Volunteers and members are the heart of this
organization, and we need to be able to share information within the
organization about volunteers and members to get productive use of our valued
volunteers.
Capistrano Rescue Effort recognizes and appreciates the importance of
responsible use of this information. We do not sell your personal information to
third parties. We do, however, share selected information under certain
conditions.
Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort needs to be in a position to share information
with our two major partners: the City of San Juan Capistrano and the County of
Orange. Through the action of volunteers, members and those with associations of
Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort, the responsibilities for basic animal control
provided by these two government organizations is leveraged to provide a higher
level of service for the animals and human residents of San Juan Capistrano.
Additionally, it is typical to find inside the request and/or award of medium to
large grants, the requirement that records be reviewed. At first this might seem
invasive, yet it reflects well thought out gifting by the organization
considering awarding the grant. Examples include a grant that might be given to
help the group grow from 75 to150 active volunteers, It is reasonable to expect
to find in this or similar grants the right for the granting organization to
review the records of Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort. I.e.: 1: we do have 75
active volunteers 2: at the end of the time frame, the number of volunteers that
we have been able to add. Your information will not be provided to the granting
organization for their use, except to be reviewed or audited to validate that we
have met their requirements.
From time to time, Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort requires assistance from
outside groups to prepare mailings (USPS or Email). Capistrano Animal Rescue
Effort makes reasonable efforts to screen these groups for their integrity in
handling information in an effort to eliminate the use of your personal
information by outside sources.
We may disclose Personal Information we collect if we believe in good faith that
such disclosure is necessary to comply with relevant laws or to protect and
defend the rights or property of Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort or visitors of
the Web Sites.
